Snow at the Brunswick Beaches?
It’s been a long time since the Brunswick Beaches have experienced a large accumulation of snow. Every couple years we may get flurries, but nothing that really adds up to over an inch. This picture of a palm tree in Sea Trail Plantation is from last year. That was the heaviest it got, and the heaviest I’ve seen it in a long time (and it was barley sticking to the ground). Today they’re calling for 3-5 inches! People from up north may think that amount is laughable and shouldn’t cause such frenzy. But we don’t have snow plows or salt trucks, and the local people aren’t accustom to driving in such weather. All that combined adds up to a potentially dangerous situation. Schools are closed, and now we are sitting and waiting for the snow to come down. Stay tuned for pictures of Ocean Isle Beach, Sunset Beach and your other favorite Brunswick Beaches covered in snow!
